The USA University Path
Briefly describe the US process so students can compare.
Mention the vast number of schools (over 5,000) and the need to take standardized tests like the SAT or ACT (though many are test-optional) and the TOEFL.
This is the key difference. Explain that US schools want to know “who you are” through the Common Application, personal essays, and recommendation letters.
Once accepted, the school issues a Form I-20.
Explain that the I-20 is used to apply for the F-1 Student Visa, which requires paying a
SEVIS fee and attending a mandatory in-person interview at a US embassy.
